I live in the spaces in-between.

There are four people in my family – my husband, my two daughters, and me. Some of us are White. Some of us are Black. Some of us are Jewish. Some of us are Catholic. Some of us don’t know what we are yet, but we try to be good people. All of us are American. Some of us are Swiss, too.

And we all get along. Quite well. It is actually very easy.

Which is why I don’t understand why the rest of the world finds it so hard.
